Toledo Rails is one of two VHS Tapes that was filmed by notable model railroader Doug Tagsold in the 1990s. In this two hour program we will see Conrail, CSX, Norfolk Southern, Grand Trunk, Ann Arbor and Amtrak action at Central Union Terminal, Maumee River Bridge, Vickers, Walbridge Yard, Alexis Tower, Ironville, Lang Yard, and the Toledo Terminal. That leslie SL4T horn sounds beautiful!! The chord that it sounds is a D minor 7th. Very pleasing sound. It is like a leslie S3K with a #55 bell added on. I like the sound of the SL4T . It is one of my favorites along with the K5LA, K3LA, M3, P3, S3K, and the K5LA hybrid.
As someone who has desperately wanted to build a Lego steam locomotive this is absolutely amazing truly incredible, this is an inspiration one day I hope to have an amazing locomotive as yours, also the fact you were able to capture the historic details is awesome!

Whatever whistle 126 is wearing it suits her perfectly which I think the people who've operated on her do seeing as I've seen many vids like this where she's sporting the same one, though I don't know what kind of whistle it is sadly.

OK, it's been 7 months. What's that alternative model you wanted to compare it to? The one at the end of the video.
I’m waiting for a year retrospective on the two. I’ve distanced myself from this set’s online presence because it has been TOXIC to say the least. Meanwhile both have ran at shows and have received a completely different reception from fans.
I just finished this and a few issues. Some pieces were missing, some of the build just didn't work or was overly complex - like the firebox door area in the cab. A few tweaks and this would go from a 'good' to a 'great' brick kit. The digital instructions also skip many crucial steps - you've been warned!

im tempted to buy it just for the rechargeable battery box and the good ol power function system that just feels better and controls better.
It’s honestly identical in terms of power output to actual power functions.
Im thinking about buying a gp15 from letbticks in the frisco colors .
I recommend it, the designers made a great model. I would advise to invest in Lego Powered Up for the power box and motor bogie so you have fine control of the locomotive. The Chinese electronics supplied are lacking

it has been almost 4 years now since this was reviewed, you said that the model would be modified, is there going to be a video in the future with this locomotive??

@@ToledoRails so i am guessing that the modifications didn't work out well, or it has been so long that there is no point in doing a video of it?
@@Traincraft_Fan let’s put it this way: I upgraded the system to the PFX brick and it worked great, then it crashed. Honestly my diagnosis for the set is standard for any Mould king set really, ditch that control box and make it a power functions or power functions knockoff (those are just as good) and you’re set

I was hanging in Toledo that summer, just a blockish away on Utah street. I was photographing the traffic crossing the bridge almost every afternoon. I'm surprised Im not in some of those shots lol
I received this set for Christmas from my family and was curious on curves it could take under power. Thanks for the review and showing what this unit can do with the different track setups. Now to get back to work on the locomotive for me.

Supposedly another reason for the change of the model was by the Orient express company themselves apparently they wanted it to look more how they envision it, so that might be another reason why it was changed.
